Jungkook tattoo 2024: Guide of Stories, Designs, and Meaning Behind the Ink

Jungkook, the youngest member of BTS, is known for many things—his incredible vocals, dancing, and charisma—but fans are equally intrigued by his tattoos.

As the most tattooed member of BTS, Jungkook’s body art is not just about aesthetics; it's filled with deep personal meanings that represent his journey, passions, and connections. In this guide, we’ll dive into the stories behind Jungkook’s tattoos, exploring the symbolism of each design and why they mean so much to him and the fans.

1. Jungkook’s First Tattoo: ARMY

Jungkook's very first tattoo is one that every BTS fan holds dear. He has "ARMY" tattooed across his knuckles, a tribute to BTS' devoted fanbase.

This simple, yet meaningful tattoo is a way for Jungkook to keep ARMY close to him at all times, symbolizing the inseparable bond between him and the fans.

Expanding the Ink: Jungkook’s Full Sleeve

Since getting his first tattoo, Jungkook’s collection has grown significantly, culminating in a full sleeve that he often shows off during performances and live streams. The sleeve includes everything from personal milestones to artistic expressions. Here are some of the key tattoos in Jungkook’s collection:

▪️ Tiger Flower Tattoo

On his forearm, Jungkook has a tattoo of a tiger flower, which is his birth flower. This particular tattoo holds significant meaning, as it represents strength, love, and endurance—traits that resonate with his journey in the music industry. The phrase "Please love me" is written near the flower, symbolizing Jungkook’s humble request for support and love from his fans.

▪️ Microphone and Clock

A standout feature of his sleeve is the tattoo of a microphone tied to a clock. The clock is set to the exact time of Jungkook's birth, symbolizing his destiny to be a singer.

The microphone, a tool synonymous with his profession, reinforces his passion for music and his life’s purpose.

▪️ ‘Bulletproof’ Tattoo

As a member of BTS, also known as Bangtan Sonyeondan (Bulletproof Boy Scouts), Jungkook has a “Bulletproof” tattoo on his forearm. This tattoo replaced an eye design, which he felt didn’t resonate with him as much. The bulletproof tattoo is a powerful symbol of BTS’ message of strength, resilience, and standing up against adversity.

▪️ HYYH Tattoo

One of Jungkook’s most significant tattoos is the “HYYH” symbol on his arm, referencing BTS’s “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life” era. This tattoo captures the essence of a pivotal time in BTS’s career, marking their growth and global success.

▪️ The Number ‘7’

Behind his ear, Jungkook has the number ‘7’ tattooed, symbolizing the seven members of BTS. It’s a constant reminder of his loyalty and dedication to the group that changed his life and brought him to worldwide

fame.

2. Tattoos as Personal Growth

For Jungkook, tattoos are more than just ink on skin—they are a representation of his personal growth. He has covered up a few tattoos as his thoughts and preferences evolved. One example is his "Geon" tattoo, which originally symbolized heaven in Korean culture. He later covered it up with a snake design, symbolizing growth and transformation, an animal that sheds its skin as it grows.

3. Tattoos and Cultural Impact in Korea

It’s important to note that tattoos in South Korea are still considered taboo, especially for public figures like Jungkook. Despite this cultural stigma, Jungkook proudly displays his tattoos during live streams and performances, subtly pushing the boundaries of acceptance. His confidence in showing his tattoos, especially as a member of BTS, has sparked conversations around body art in South Korea and its growing acceptance.

4. Jungkook’s Tattoo Artist: POLYC

Most of Jungkook’s tattoos were inked by renowned tattoo artist POLYC. The artist’s detailed work has been featured on Jungkook's social media, and fans have expressed admiration for the intricate designs. Jungkook even has a special tattoo dedicated to POLYC as a mark of their close relationship.
