We have news that Aespa's Ningning will not be participating in the Japanese Kohaku Uta Gassen due to the flu.
2025.12.30 01:17
It has been reported that aespa member Ningning has been diagnosed with influenza and will not be participating in the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen. Her agency SM Entertainment announced on their official website that Ningning has been advised to rest, and that only three members, Karina, Giselle, and Winter, will be appearing.
There was a controversy in the past that the lighting photo Ningning shared on Bubble resembled the 'mushroom cloud' of the atomic bomb. Recently, with the deepening conflict between China and Japan, the issue has resurfaced, and there was even a petition for a boycott among Japanese fans. However, NHK stated that they had confirmed with Ningning's agency that she had no intention of downplaying the damage caused by the atomic bomb, and that there was no problem with her appearance. SM also explained that while there was no specific intention behind Ningning's post, they will be more careful about the concerns it has caused.
There have been many complex situations, but Ningning's health is our top priority, so I hope she recovers quickly. I also hope the three members finish their performances safely and return home.
