(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Taesu Lee = Group Big Bang will embark on a global tour this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut.

YG Entertainment's executive producer Yang Hyun-suk revealed this plan in an interview published on the official blog on the 4th.

Yang Hyun-suk, the CEO, said, "We have agreed to hold a concert with the Big Bang members," and added, "I don't think there will be any difficulties because we have been working together for a long time. All of the YG staff will do their best to create a perfect and great concert."

Big Bang debuted in 2006 and released hit songs such as "Lies," "Haru Haru," "Last Farewell," and "Loser," becoming a representative second-generation idol group.

They have not released a new song as Big Bang since "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter" in April 2022.

However, the three members, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung, have maintained their friendship by appearing as guests at each other's solo concerts and appearing together at the 2024 Mnet year-end popular music awards ceremony 'MAMA Awards'.

 

The members have expressed a strong will to resume team activities this year to mark Big Bang's 20th anniversary.

G-Dragon said at a solo fan meeting last month, "This year, Big Bang will be making a 20th anniversary comeback. As a member and a fan, I am also looking forward to it, and I think all the members feel the same way."

 

BIGBANG's upcoming tour is drawing attention as it commemorates the group's 20th anniversary and marks the reunion of BIGBANG and YG, two of the most influential K-pop artists in the industry. Specific tour plans will be announced at a later date.

Big Bang will also be performing at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, a large-scale outdoor music festival held in California, USA next month.
