By any chance at the 2013 Infinite Challenge Music Festival

Do you remember the chemistry between GD and Jung Hyung-don?

Even back then

It was G-Dragon, the icon of K-POP and a muse of Chanel who graced the front rows of fashion weeks around the world.

When G-Dragon stepped into the Dongmyo Flea Market, led by Jung Hyung-don, for the filming of the 2013 MBC Infinite Challenge - Jayuro Music Festival, it caused a veritable tectonic shift in the world of popular culture and fashion.

The unusual encounter between GD, a cosmic superstar who seemed like he would only wear glamorous high-end luxury, and Dongmyo, known as the "Hongdae for grandfathers," garnered tremendous attention.

At the time, Jung Hyung-don [regarding] GD's extraordinary fashion sense

He continued his endless provocations, saying, "That's not how you dress," and "Come to Dongmyo and learn some fashion." During the Dongmyo date that was arranged in this way, GD witnessed a sight he had never seen before. He was freshly shocked by the mountain of clothes piled on the ground and Jung Hyung-don's rough shopping style of "snatching up anything with a metal hook" from within them. Although he was flustered watching Jung Hyung-don recommend vintage jackets and leopard-print t-shirts costing only a few thousand won, GD's human side—unhesitatingly throwing himself into the pile of clothes to find treasure—brought great laughter to the fans.

The highlight of this episode was the parody of GD's solo song "Crooked" music video, filmed in the middle of Dongmyo Alley. While the original music video was filmed against the backdrop of a trendy street in London, England, featuring designer outfits worth millions of won, the Dongmyo version was truly the "ultimate king of value for money."

GD, equipped with an 80s-style oversized suit, a silver-gray shirt, and stationery store sunglasses that Jung Hyung-don had carefully selected (?) for him at Dongmyo, instantly transformed the Dongmyo alley into London's East End.

GD's appearance, staggering in front of market shutters and weaving among the yogurt ladies and grandfathers on the street, was a moment that perfectly proved the saying, "A true fashionista speaks with their attitude, not the price of their clothes."

but

After GD's visit, the status of Dongmyo Flea Market was completely turned upside down.

A quiet traditional market where elderly people used to trade second-hand goods has rapidly emerged as the 'Mecca of K-Vintage,' attracting young people and fashionistas from all over the country seeking unique vintage clothing.

Immediately after the broadcast of Infinite Challenge, the clothing store and alley visited by GD became a must-visit pilgrimage site for fans, and numerous YouTubers and influencers began churning out "dressing hip in Dongmyo" content.
