The voices of the audience in Boy Next Door's songs

Knowing how the chorus in Boy Next Door's ANIMAL began makes the song sound even more interesting. Member Taesan mentioned in an interview that he was inspired by the sound of the audience singing along at concerts. It's as if the energy received on stage has returned to the song.

He said that the moment when many people sang together in unison at the Lollapalooza after-show during their first world tour left a lasting impression on him. He thought that someday he wanted to capture that sound in his music, and that led him to come up with the repeating chorus. Since it is a part that can be easily sung together regardless of language, it seems like it will give him even greater strength at live performances.

I particularly like that the members remembered the audience's reactions and incorporated them into the songwriting process. It shows that beyond simply delivering a song on stage, the moments of interaction with the audience can serve as the starting point for the next piece of music. The fans' voices feel like a part of the music itself.

It was also impressive to hear that BOYNEXTDOWN keeps their own emotions and thoughts at the center while experimenting with various sounds. I look forward to seeing what experiences the six members will express through their songs and performances in the future. The next time I listen to ANIMAL, I think I will pay a little more attention to the chorus.
