As controversy grew after BTS' Jungkook wore a hat with a phrase used by Japanese right-wing figures, he apologized, and the brand that made the hat explained, "It was not designed to convey a political stance."
Japanese fashion brand Basics posted on their official Instagram on the 14th, “We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable,” but also stated this. Their position is that the phrase “symbolically expresses our hopes for the prosperity of the Tokyo fashion industry.”
They immediately scrapped the hat and apologized for the right-wing controversy. I guess that wasn't their intention.
