BTS's Gwanghwamun concert is causing Seoul accommodation prices to skyrocket.

With BTS's upcoming Gwanghwamun concert scheduled for March 21st, accommodation reservations in downtown Seoul and the Gwanghwamun area are rapidly increasing, and prices are more than tripling, so it's an emergency.

According to Booking.com, an accommodation reservation platform, rooms are already filling up quickly even before the performance ticket lottery is held, and some accommodations are practically sold out.

The problem is finding a room, but the most pressing issue is the price of the room.

Already on March 20th and 21st, the day before and the day of BTS's concert

The price of accommodations in the Gwanghwamun area and surrounding downtown areas is said to be in the range of 400,000 to 700,000 won per night.

Some luxury accommodations are said to cost over 1 million won. Despite this, fully booked accommodations are already appearing one after another.

Experts are evaluating this BTS concert as a mega event on par with the World Cup.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the police announced that they will launch a joint task force to manage toll fees, crowds, and traffic.

It is said that ordinary citizens can only sigh as it seems inevitable that prices will rise due to a shortage of supply at a time when demand is rapidly increasing due to the overlapping peak season and performance period.
