Was a video related to BTS’s ‘Arirang’ produced against the backdrop of Howard University in Washington, D.C., USA?

A scene is depicted in which Korean students arrive at the Howard University campus by boat and sing while the folk song 'Arirang' plays, and later, white students join them. The reason for the criticism Howard University is a prominent historically Black university in the United States and has served as a center of the Black civil rights movement; however, criticism has been raised that it is inappropriate because the portrayal of students in the video consists mostly of white people.

It refers to the act of changing characters of color into white people or excluding people of color, and criticism has been raised that this video falls under such an example.

Some Black K-pop fans and the Black college community are raising concerns, calling it “staging that ignores historical context.”
