매출은 역대급인데 적자라니 처음 들으면 좀 헷갈리네요 비용 구조가 크게 변한 건지 궁금해지구요
[talk] Sales are record-breaking thanks to BTS, so how can it be a deficit? What's going on?
Looking at HYBE's Q1 earnings, I think you might be a bit surprised if you just look at the numbers.
Sales hit an all-time high for the first quarter at 698.3 billion won, but the operating loss came out at 196.6 billion won.
At first glance, you might think the atmosphere is bad, but it turns out there is a separate reason.
It is a transaction where the majority shareholder gifted shares as performance bonuses to employees, and since that was recorded as an accounting expense, it appeared as a deficit.
I explained it as a one-time expense because no money was actually taken out.
So, excluding this, the adjusted operating profit was 58.5 billion won, which is said to have actually performed better than expected.
Especially hearing that album sales nearly doubled due to the impact of BTS's comeback, I can feel the power of the fandom once again.
With sales like this in the first quarter, which is the off-season, I think we can be optimistic about the overall trend for the year.
