I heard the news that the police are filing a lawsuit for damages against the author who posted terror threats targeting the BTS concert in Gwanghwamun.
Personally, I believe that such false threatening posts are a serious issue that absolutely cannot be dismissed as a joke. This is because safety is paramount, especially at large-scale events like BTS concerts where countless fans and citizens gather.
Even the mere posting of a threatening message causes significant anxiety not only among the performance organizers but also among the audience attending the venue. Regardless of whether there is an actual danger, additional safety inspections and heightened security become necessary, inevitably requiring the investment of substantial manpower and costs.
Above all, it is most regrettable that for the fans who have been waiting for the performance, a time that should have become a precious memory could turn into worry and anxiety. I do not think it is something to be taken lightly that a space where both artists and fans should be together happily and safely is under threat.
I believe this lawsuit for damages is also a meaningful measure demonstrating that such behavior is not merely a prank, but an action that carries clear responsibility. I hope that the awareness that wrongful actions inevitably lead to consequences becomes more widespread.
