The Changing Status of K-POP Moves Even the Grammys

Seeing the news that the Grammys have established the Best Asian Pop Award really makes me realize how much times have changed. I believe it is a significant change that the Grammys, which have long maintained a perspective centered on the U.S. music market, have taken the step of officially acknowledging the influence of the Asian music market.

It is especially moving when I recall the growth and influence K-POP has demonstrated in the global music market. It would not be an exaggeration to say that BTS was at the center of it all. I feel that BTS's journey, having proven the potential of K-POP by setting numerous records and sweeping global charts, played a significant role in changing the course of the global music industry.
