News has emerged that the police are filing a lawsuit for damages against those who posted threats of terrorism against BTS's Gwanghwamun concert.
Personally, I think this is a truly necessary measure. This is because terror threats at large-scale performances attended by massive crowds cannot be dismissed as a mere prank or a mere happening. Even a single line posted online is bound to cause significant anxiety and fear among the organizers and the audience.
In reality, when such threats occur, the police and relevant agencies must take various measures, including safety inspections, deployment of security personnel, and establishment of on-site response systems. This process involves the investment of massive manpower and costs, causing many people to prepare for the performance under unnecessary tension.
