It is said that BTS was originally intended to be a hip-hop group. In 2010, Bang Si-hyuk saw RM, who was active in the underground scene, and thought, "I absolutely have to debut someone like this," and began to envision a hip-hop group.

However, Bang Si-hyuk, whose belief that a group needs mass appeal to become a big group changed, declared that dance and performance were necessary and began to envision the image of a hip-hop idol group.

It is said that as a result, all the original members quit and the current BTS members joined.
