Achieved 1 Million Points on Japan's Oricon! BTS Makes New History

The news that BTS set a record as the first overseas artist to achieve 1 million points on Japan's Oricon is truly touching.

I think it is even more significant as it is the third record in history, following local artists Snowman and Mrs. Green Apple, and the only one by an international artist.

The Japanese music market, in particular, is known to be a place where it is difficult for overseas artists to be consistently loved over a long period, so I am truly proud of the fact that BTS, a Korean group, has overcome that barrier and set such a great record.

I think this is more than just recording high numbers; it is the result of the trust and love built over a long period of time communicating with Japanese fans through music.

BTS is making history by gaining recognition for their music across national borders; the title of "global artist" truly suits them. We cheer for BTS as they continue to write new records.
