Samsung Electronics Germany Account Releases BTS Suga Advertisement Photos for ‘Drunk Driving’
2024.08.17 07:52
Amid the controversy over BTS member Suga's drunk driving on an electric scooter, an advertisement photo has appeared on Samsung Electronics' German account.
On the 15th, Samsung Electronics Germany posted a photo on their official X (formerly Twitter) account with the caption, “Who is the person who matches the product best?” The photo included BTS’s Suga, Jimin, and RM. They also made it possible to vote on the photo. They also posted a photo of Suga with the caption, “When I try to take a secret photo of my celebrity.”
On the 6th at around 11:10 PM, Suga was found by the police after falling over while drinking and riding an electric scooter near his home in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and was booked on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving). At the time of his arrest, Suga's blood alcohol level was 0.227%, indicating he was intoxicated.
Afterwards, Suga admitted the charges and apologized, saying, "I violated the road traffic laws because I thought it was a close distance and did not realize that I could not use an electric kickboard while intoxicated."
However, as the expression "electric kickboard" and the statement that "I received a fine and license cancellation" were revealed to be false, some criticized that Suga and his agency were trying to downplay the incident.
Meanwhile, the police have begun administrative procedures to revoke Suga's driver's license. They plan to summon Suga for questioning soon.
