Bing Crosby, BTS V's First Collaboration Proposal... "Perfect Artist to Work With on 'White Christmas'"

[Herald POP=Reporter Kang Ga-hee] “I thought V was the perfect artist to do a duet with for ‘White Christmas’”

Bing Crosby's legendary carol 'White Christmas' will be reborn as a duet song with BTS' V on the 6th. 'White Christmas (with V of BTS),' which contains the two's voices, began with the special relationship between '21st century pop icon' BTS' V and legendary singer Bing Crosby. V has always mentioned Bing Crosby as his favorite musician, and has even covered his representative songs 'It's Been a Long, Long Time' and 'It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.' Bing Crosby's agency Primary Wave recognized and responded, which opened the door for this collaboration.

Primary Wave talked about V’s cover song video, saying, “We learned that V has been expressing his love for Bing Crosby for a long time.” They continued, “We expected that his voice would harmonize beautifully with Bing Crosby’s. We thought he was the perfect artist to do a ‘White Christmas’ duet with, so we first suggested working with him.”

The reason for choosing 'White Christmas' among Bing Crosby's many famous songs as a duet song was explained as "It was perhaps natural to choose it as a song to sing with V since it is a carol loved all over the world." Since the song was released in 1942, many top singers including Michael Buble, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry have covered the song, but not a single duet song with Bing Crosby has been released.

Finally, Primary Wave emphasized that this work is not a simple strategic partnership. They said, “V’s love for Bing Crosby and passion for duets made this collaboration truly special. The two people’s voices will blend beautifully, and V’s sincerity is expected to deeply resonate with music fans around the world.”

Meanwhile, 'White Christmas (with V of BTS)' is the second musical gift prepared by 'Winter Boy' V this winter. Every year at the end of the year, V has brought happiness to fans by releasing a song full of winter emotions.

The first gift of the year was the digital single 'Winter Ahead (with PARK HYO SHIN)' featuring Park Hyo Shin. Released on the 29th of last month, the song is based on jazz, which V usually likes. His taste is also evident in the second gift, 'White Christmas (with V of BTS)'. The song will be released simultaneously worldwide at 2 PM on the 6th.
