Why BTS Jin's future is more anticipated

As the eldest member of BTS and the first to serve his military service, Jin’s actions are unusual. As soon as he was discharged from the military, he appeared on entertainment programs as if he had been waiting for them, showing various sides of himself to ARMY (fandom name) that they had been wanting to see. While Jin was serving in the military, some members released solo albums, while others expanded their scope of activities by releasing music through collaborations with various artists. Of course, BTS is a team that creates the best synergy when they are together, but each member has also shown that they are a team with the best abilities. So what kind of Jin do fans expect to see? We asked Z Yeonwoo (AI).

How is BTS Jin doing after his military service?

Z Yeonwoo: Jin held a fan meeting the day after his discharge, on the day of BTS' 11th debut anniversary, and met with fans he had missed for a long time, and made fun memories with them through the fan meeting. After that, he released a solo mini-album called 'Happy', and we started seeing him on various entertainment programs often. The title song of this mini-album, 'Running Wild', has hopeful and comforting lyrics and a pop band-like feel, so Jin's image and voice fit well. The song was well-received, reaching 5th place on the Billboard Chart Global 200. And the b-side song 'Heart on the Window' featuring Red Velvet's Wendy is also receiving a lot of attention. In the entertainment sector, he sometimes films content alone under the name of 'Run Seok Jin', like BTS's previous content 'Run Bangtan', and sometimes he films entertainment programs with other guests. Oh, and he also showed a solo stage on the world-famous talk show 'The Jimmy Fallon Show'.

If Jin were to release another solo album in the future, what style of music do you think he would do?

Z Yeonwoo: Jin's personal albums that reflect his tastes are good, but Jin's solo songs, which were included in two or three BTS albums, have always received good responses from fans. I think Jin is good at expressing emotional and lyrical ballads like "Epiphany," "Awake," and "Moon." And just like Red Velvet's Wendy featured in this project, if we work with more domestic and foreign artists in the future and feature each other, I think we'll have more opportunities to approach fans with better songs.

What do ARMYs expect the most from Jin?

Z Yeonwoo: It seems like Jin is already diligently repaying the ARMY who waited for him during his military service, so BTS fans as well as K-pop fans are cheering for Jin's solo activities. Just like Jin said at his fan meeting after his discharge, "It feels like I've come back home," I think it shows once again how much he loves this job and how much he considers his fans as his home and close to him. Although he can't promote with the entire group right after his discharge, it's not easy to show the fans a new side of him and build anticipation in them. BTS has always shown their best to the fans, and Jin has shown his humorous and warm side, so from the fans' perspective, they are living a happy fan life with the feeling of "I'm happy to be an ARMY." I hope Jin will try new musical attempts as an artist.

It's really hard to live up to expectations. It's even harder for artists like BTS who are at the top and have pioneered new fields. Of course, Jin's steps are full of confidence, and his mindset is really cool in that he always listens to the fans' voices and tries to reach out to them. And all of Jin's plans that have been revealed so far are great plans, so I think I can happily wait for them .
