Seokjin, who always wants his fans to be happy (Interview)

What is the current situation for BTS? I don't know when the second act will begin, but I'm curious about Jin's thoughts on the second act of BTS, which will be different from the previous ones.

Personally, I don't want to use the expression 'act 2' because I think things will just continue as they are, just with different circumstances. I'm someone who lives contentedly in the present rather than living in the future, so I think of it as 'a time that is not particularly different'. Just because there is a big event doesn't mean I, as a person, will change.

As you get older, there are times when you think about 'friends' again. Some psychology experts say that 'friends and friendship are the most important achievements in life.' I understand that you are still close with a few friends who knew Kim Seok-jin when he was young. Do you ever think, 'I wish I had more friends'?

I think I already have enough close friends. First of all, there are my BTS members, and secondly, there are friends I see often. Of course, I meet other people from time to time, but we all live far away and have our own circumstances, so we don't see each other often. On the other hand, I don't try to increase the number of people I meet because I'm afraid that if I meet more people, I might neglect the people around me. Right now, my friends and I have similar personalities, so we treat each other well and are happy.

In interpersonal relationships, when do you feel like you've 'crossed the line'?

When you say something unpleasant to someone. There are people who say things that they don't necessarily have to. Sometimes I see people who use expressions that put others down in the middle of a conversation. So when I feel bad, I can hold back once or twice, but... it's hard to deal with people like that. I don't keep in touch with people like that.

So, what does Kim Seok-jin do and when does he spend his time feel the happiest? When he feels the most like himself, comfortable and happy.

These days, I'm happiest when I'm working. Since work is something I have to do, aren't people who are happy when they're working always happy? I'm praying that this feeling will last as long as possible (laughs).

But happiness often seems far away. Is there anything I can say to people who feel that way?

I feel happy when people around me laugh. So I try to make others laugh. I realized this myself over time. I think there is a way to be happy that suits each person. I think it becomes harder if you have negative thoughts.
