I remember the news that Cortis's second mini-album, GreenGreen, surpassed 3 million copies in sales last July. According to Big Hit Music, citing Circle Chart data, the cumulative sales reached 3,099,000 copies, a record achieved just 11 weeks after its release on May 4. It is said that the title track, RedRed, also maintained a high ranking on domestic music charts at the time.
It was also interesting to see the members explain the meanings of the colors during the showcase introducing the album. Juhun shared that red represents what they want to be wary of, while green signifies what they aspire to. Knowing the reason for assigning different colors to the album and the songs gives the titles a new perspective.
James said that while working on the song, he removed elements that felt uncharacteristic of the team or that he didn't like. He added that through that process, they came to understand better what they wanted. Martin revealed that the members and the production team discussed various sounds to break away from the confines of a fixed genre.
The members have their names credited on several tracks in the album, which contains six songs. It is said that they participated in the work at a songwriting camp in Los Angeles and also contributed to the choreography and video production. Looking at the photo of the five members together, I recall the process of preparing the album.
