As a fan of DAY6, I often find myself seeing Sungjin as an artist in a new light. While he holds the team together as a reliable leader, Park Sungjin's music as a solo artist seems to have a different kind of charm.
In particular, when listening to his first full-length album '30,' released in November 2024, it feels like the worries and thoughts on life Sungjin experienced as he entered his 30s are naturally captured in the music. Rather than feeling flashy, it feels like he honestly unfolded his own story, so the lyrics really resonated with me as I listened to the songs.
I liked that, unlike the strong image shown in DAY6, his solo work conveyed a more human and calm sensibility. It also made me think that ultimately, good music isn't created by technique alone, but requires the sincerity of the singer to be conveyed.
I think that is why Sungjin's songs linger in my memory for so long. While I love watching him sing on stage, it is also wonderful to see Park Sungjin telling his own story through music. I hope we can continue to listen to his unique and sincere music for a long time to come.
