IU sings 'Someday' again after 14 years Musical 'Dream High' OST released today

Singer IU will sing the 'Dream High' OST 'Someday' again after 14 years.

The song "Someday", in which IU participated in collaboration with the show musical "Dream High" based on the drama of the same name, will be pre-released at 6 PM on the 7th. A portion of the proceeds from the song will be donated to young people preparing for independence who are working hard to achieve their dreams, just like the message of the song and the work.

IU's "Someday," released in 2011 as the OST for the drama "Dream High," is a song written and composed by singer Park Jin-young. 14 years ago, IU sang the song about a character named Pil-sook who silently walked through a dark, long tunnel toward her dream of becoming a superstar, waiting for the day when she would finally achieve her dream "someday." The song was greatly loved at the time, and is one of the most beloved songs by her fandom, "UAENA," and is often sung as the encore song at IU's concerts, making it a famous song that is still loved by the public.

All of the main actors, including IU, Kim Soo-hyun, Suzy, Ok Taecyeon, and Jang Wooyoung, who were actually rookies when they first appeared in the drama, have become real-life superstars just like the plot of the drama. IU joined broadcaster Park Kyung-lim's good cause of donating part of her music profits to a project that supports the dreams and challenges of young people preparing to become independent. She featured in her song "Someday" along with unknown actors and dancers from the show musical "Dream High," releasing a meaningful song that contains evidence of hope that "some day" that we have vaguely waited for will definitely come.

The show musical 'Dream High', which was launched by Art One Company CEO Eun-ha Kim to overcome the poor environment for dancers and create a stage, has shown the possibility of new content through K-pop, K-dance, and K-story that transcends language barriers and targets the global market with dance and music, such as by exporting our original stage to overseas markets such as Japan and Taiwan with just its premiere last year. The show musical 'Dream High' encore performance stage is scheduled to be presented in March 2025, and broadcaster Kyung-lim Park participated in expanding the worldview of the show musical 'Dream High' as an actor and creative director, and in planning content such as the release of the OST and concert.

The song 'Someday', which will be released at 6 PM on this day, is a song by the first cast and dancers of the show musical, featuring IU and composer Go Young-hwan. The song will be released sequentially with songs created with various artists who share the same goals as the Dream High project called 'Dream and Challenge' until January of next year, and then produced as a special OST album.
