The controversy surrounding KIA Tigers player Hong Jong-pyo continues. From batting errors to contact with catcher Kim Geon-hee, backbiting of player Kim Do-young, and suspicions of two-timing… There is a mixture of worry and disappointment among fans.

1. The controversy started with a mistake made by a bat that was hit 'thud'
During the game against Kiwoom on May 27, Hong Jong-pyo made a mistake by hitting Kiwoom catcher Kim Geon-hee's elbow with his bat while swinging.

The problem came next. The catcher was clearly in pain, but Hong Jong-pyo calmly passed the situation without any noticeable apology, and the commentators who saw this criticized his attitude, saying, “You have to share the pain.”

2. Private life revealed through post type
In mid-September last year, a female fan's expose was made public on the blog platform 'Postype'.

According to the article, Hong Jong-pyo was accused of disparaging fan gifts and engaging in inappropriate behavior while dating multiple women. In particular, hate speech directed at the hometown of Gwangju and mockery of fans have angered fans.

3. Silence from the club and himself… Fans are frustrated
Additional revelations have followed, but neither the Kia team nor Hong Jong-pyo himself have made any specific explanations or statements. There are even rumors that he is effectively being kicked out, with his SNS accounts set to private, his YouTube comment section closed, his removal from the first-team squad, and his season highlight videos deleted.

4. Even gossiping about player Kim Do-young?
Even in recent online communities, It has been reported that Hong Jong-pyo said things like, “He only goes home and to the hair salon,” and “He doesn’t drink or smoke; he’s not manly.”

Fans are once again praising Kim Do-young's self-management attitude and expressing disappointment in Hong Jong-pyo's character.
