A recap of the controversy surrounding The Boyz's Ju Haknyeon's withdrawal from the team due to a drinking party with Asuka Kirara! A complete summary of his Shukan Bunshun photos, mixed nationality, and even his past lack of tact during his Produce days.

There is controversy over The Boyz's Joo Hak-nyeon leaving the team due to drinking with former Japanese AV actress Asuka Kirara.

The fandom was completely turned upside down as it was not just a simple drinking party, but also a 'Shukan Bunshun photo', skinship, and even suspicions of prostitution surfaced.

In this article, I will organize the controversies in order and neatly organize Joo Hak-nyeon's image from the Produce days!

1. The beginning of the controversy: Tokyo drinking party & skinship photos
- Date: May 29-30, 2025, dawn
- Location: Private Bar, Roppongi, Tokyo, Japan
- Opponent: Retired former AV actress Asuka Kirara
- Content: A scene showing Ju Hak-nyeon and Asuka Kirara hugging and her resting her chin on his shoulder, as well as other physical contact, was reported in the Japanese media Shukan Bunshun.

- This report caused controversy to grow, expanding to include suspicions of prostitution.

2. Joo Hak-nyeon's explanation and withdrawal from The Boyz
- On June 19th, Joo Hak-nyeon posted a handwritten apology on his Instagram.
"It was true that there was drinking, but there was no illegal activity such as prostitution."

- The agency, One Hundred, judged the issue to be a personal matter and announced his withdrawal from the team and termination of his contract.
- The Boyz fandom is generally accepting of the move, saying it is a "measure to protect the team's image," but they are also very disappointed.

3. Joo Hak-nyeon's mixed race background: Hong Kong national father
- Joo Hak-nyeon is of mixed race, with a Korean mother and a Hong Kong national father.
- That's probably why, since I was young, I've often been criticized for having a somewhat exotic appearance and image.
- However, as a result of this incident, there are also reactions such as “regardless of nationality, celebrities are public figures.”

4. A grade that has been oblivious since the Produce days
- In 'Produce 101 Season 2', Joo Hak-nyeon was the center, but he was criticized by his teammates due to his lack of skills.
- Especially, slow speed in following practice, not catching emotions, and ignoring advice from others.
Danyun, Dongho, Kenta, and others were openly criticizing it.
- Even at that time, I had a strong image of being a 'careless trainee' because of the lack of portions, repeated mistakes, and stubbornness to be the center.

5. Fandom reaction: “Fans can’t cover this up…”
- Some fans are pointing out that “the drinking party itself is the problem, not the suspicion of prostitution.”
- Asuka Kirara has retired, but she still has a strong image as an AV star, so questions are being raised about Ju Hak-nyeon's judgment.

- Especially as an idol who is currently active, the biggest criticism is that he does not distinguish between public and private life.
