⚠️ The Night That Was Different — More Sensitivity, More Solidarity

 

Because of the tragic fire in Tai Po, Hong Kong, just days before the event, this year’s MAMA carried a heavier mood. Organisers and artists made noticeable changes to show respect and solidarity.

•The usual red carpet was cancelled.

 

• Several planned performances / flashy production elements were toned down or cancelled — for example a special stage (from the show K‑Pop Demon Hunters) was dropped.

 

• Instead, the ceremony included a tribute: a moment of silence, black ribbons, and a public message “Support Hong Kong” to honour the victims.

 

Even with that sombre backdrop — the wins, the art, the unity of fans and artists, the performances — everything felt more meaningful.
