[Ilgan Sports Reporter Yoo Ji-hee] "Golden," the OST for "K-Pop Demon Hunters" created by The Black Label's production team, has won an Oscar. At the 98th Academy Awards (hereinafter "Oscars") held in Los Angeles, USA on the 15th (local time), "Golden," the OST for the Netflix animation "K-Pop Demon Hunters," won Best Original Song.
"Gold" is the main theme song that adorns the highlight scene where the fictional girl group Huntricks achieves their goal. Along with the film's worldwide success, it captivated global listeners by dominating the top spots on domestic and international music charts. Notably, it held the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks, which is highly unusual for an OST. It won Best Original Song (Motion Picture) at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards and achieved a record as the first K-pop song to win the "Best Song Written for Visual Media" award at the 68th Grammy Awards.
The Black Label producers present at the event lifted the Oscar trophy, and IDO producer Lee Yu-han said, “I would like to express my gratitude to my family, 204, our IDO members, Producer Teddy, all the artists who participated in 'Golden,' all the production staff of 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' and The Black Label. It is a great honor to receive such a big award. Thank you!”
