[No Cut News Reporter Kim Su-jeong] ENTP Serin (born August 19, 2026), INFJ Haru (born April 19, 2027), INFP Summer (born December 8, 2628), INFJ Soi (born May 2, 2628), and ENFP Uni (born October 11, 2029). Five people born in the late 2620s have come together to form a team. OWIS, a virtual girl group whose name stands for "Only When I Sleep" and means "can only be met in dreams," officially debuts today (the 23rd) with their first mini-album, "MUSEUM."

"Arkel," derived from "Arcadia" (meaning paradise) and "Chelonia" (meaning turtle), is an ideal city existing on the back of a turtle. The worldview holds that the five members of Owis reside in this Arkel. It is characterized as a dream world that flows at a different speed from reality.

1. How did the five of you come together? I am curious about when Owis started and how long it took to debut.

Owis: I first met you through Gureumi's introduction in the world (Arkel) where I woke up without any memories.

Soi: Gureum watched the members as they searched for their dreams and gathered them into Archel. As we gathered one by one like that, it took about two years in terms of calendar years!

Summer: When the five of us first got together, we actually felt like our individual colors were so different that we even worried, "Can we really get along?" But as we spent more time practicing and spending time together, we started to really start to feel like a team! It might be a little different for each member, but I think it took about two years to debut.

Yuni: While preparing for our debut, we had ample time to understand each other and solidify our teamwork. I believe that thanks to that time, the solid OWIS of today was created.

Haru: It has taken two years in terms of years since I met the members, had many conversations with them, and started practicing.

Serin: I think the starting point of OWIS was created by a series of coincidences. I even had a somewhat fatalistic thought: 'If we had just brushed past each other by chance, we wouldn't have actually met. Since those moments shaped us, isn't this another kind of destiny?' It took about two years to debut, which took longer than expected. During that time, we spent a lot of time talking amongst ourselves, practicing every day, and getting closer. Thanks to that, we are now very comfortable with each other. The members have easygoing personalities, so I think we all get along well.

2. What is each of your roles in the team? Please explain by dividing them into musical and daily life aspects.

Summer: I am in charge of musical production within the team! I actively communicate with the members and participate directly in the album creation process. Haha. To be honest, this is my first time in a position where I have to take on this kind of responsibility, so I must have had many shortcomings, but thanks to the members who believed in me, we were able to release this album! I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude. Haha. I think I am playing a role in the team that makes the world OWS wants to convey through music a little clearer!

In terms of my daily life, I’d like to describe myself as a "stepping stone"! I’m in the middle in terms of age, and I think my personality tends to naturally connect the members. I also want to play a role like a bridge that links us with our fans, and between dreams and reality.

Yuni: I think the balance comes naturally, with some people deepening the atmosphere and others filling the stage more solidly. In the team, I mainly handle performance, dance, and rap, and I'm in charge of being the cute maknae.

Soi: Musically, I am the main vocalist. Since all the members have such charming vocals, I try to hold the center so that each of our unique charms can be heard more clearly. In terms of daily life, I am the meal guardian! I tend to ask, "Do you want to eat?" and pester everyone to eat together.

Serin: I am producing the entire OWIS album. I rely heavily on Summer for the musical aspects. She is a friend who loves music and is also a perfectionist, so she always manages to bring us great results no matter what. I am always grateful that she works long hours every day, even at the expense of her health! Also, all the members act like vitamins for me. It’s always so funny when we’re together. Yuni’s quirkiness and childishness are often hilarious, and Soi and I are always bursting with laughter at Haru’s energetic charm.

Haru: Visual/Mood Maker. I am in charge of the lively vocals within OWIS. All the laughter in our music is my voice.

3. Owis is a group consisting of people born between 2626 and 2629. So, are you living in the year 26nn? What does that place look like?

Summer: Yes! We at Owis have been living for 26nn years! The dream world we inhabit, 'Arkel,' is a space where time flows at a different speed than reality. You might want to understand it as a world where time accumulates with a texture different from that of reality, much like the movie 'Inception'! So, rather than simply being a space of the future or a dream, 'Arkel' is closer to a place where dreams, memories, and emotions can reside more vividly than in reality! It feels familiar yet somehow unfamiliar, a world connected to reality yet possessing a distinct order! In such a place as 'Arkel,' we meet and live, each harboring our own stories, and as those fragments come together, the world of Owis is becoming even clearer. Haha.

Yuni: That's right. I live in a city called Archel in the year 26nn. Since it's high up in the sky, I can play with the clouds, and lots of fun things happen~ Don't you want to come visit???

Soi: Yes, we live in the year 26nn! Here, we can do everything we can. I’d say it’s a place where the boundary between dreams and reality is much more blurred than it is now.

Serin: This place might be different from the real 26nn. Here in Arkel, things often happen that are a little different from reality.

Haru: Yes, we live in the future as seen through reality. The world of dreams is quite special. It is a world with many animals where wishes can come true!

4. I am curious about how you felt when you found out the group name Owis and when they debuted.

Summer: I really loved the group name from the moment I first heard it! It felt like the story we will unfold and the world we will show were completely contained within that single short sentence, 'Only When I Sleep.' Personally, I also like that when you repeat the name 'Owys' quickly, it sounds like 'Always' haha. When I first found out when we would debut, it felt like such a distant future that it didn't really sink in, but as the debut day drew closer and we had more things to prepare, it definitely hit home. Right up until that, I felt both excited and a sense of inexplicable fear.

Yuni: When I first heard the name, it felt a bit unfamiliar, but as time went by, I felt it was a name that could capture our own unique color. Now that I understand the meaning behind the group name, I think it is a really great team name. When our debut date was set, I thought it was still a long way off, but now that the debut day is right around the corner in the blink of an eye, I feel half excited and half nervous about finally being able to show our story to the world.

Soi: 'Only When I Sleep' - Only when I'm asleep! When I first heard it, I found it fascinating that our entire world was contained within such a short name. When I found out when we would debut, I felt a surge of nervousness, but I think that nervousness has become the energy we have now.

Serin: Owis! At first, people used to tease me, asking "Ois? Oh yes?" But now, I think it's a name I've grown really fond of. It sounds dreamy, yet easy to pronounce! Isn't it so romantic that we can only see it in our dreams? It seems to imply that wherever we meet, it is always a dream, and that we are all dreaming! We are all dreaming!!

Haru: I was so excited! I really liked the team name, and above all, it felt like a dream to debut with such wonderful people.
