The Awards to be held in Paris next January, ‘First K-pop awards ceremony to enter the EU’

[Sports Dong-A Reporter Heo Min-nyeong] 'D AWARDS,' a K-pop awards ceremony hosted by Sports Dong-A, Korea's premier daily newspaper specializing in sports and entertainment, is heading to Paris, France, the heart of European culture, next January. The symbolism of being the 'first K-pop awards ceremony' to be held in the European Union (EU) region is expected to gain further significance through the selection of the venue, the Paris Plenitude Arena (formerly La Défense Arena).
Named 'D AWARDS 2027 in PARIS,' this awards ceremony will take place over two days, January 15 and 16, 2027, at the Arena de la Pleinitude in Paris, France. With a capacity of over 40,000, the Arena de la Pleinitude is France's largest indoor arena and the optimal stage to showcase the dazzling grandeur of K-pop in the heart of European culture. Widely known as the Arena de la Défense, the venue recently changed its name to the Arena de la Pleinitude.
The monumental achievement of becoming the first K-pop awards ceremony to enter the EU was made possible by the unrivaled status recognized at the first and second ceremonies and the enthusiastic response from the global fandom. Launched in February 2025 under the motto "Bringing Dreams and Delights to the World Through Our Music," The Awards made a significant impact by breaking away from traditional ranking-style awards and introducing a "segmented award" system (The Awards Black Label) that reflects rapidly changing trends. Furthermore, it garnered praise for capturing both mass appeal and professionalism by establishing its unique "three-color trophy" system, which consists of the Main Award (Delights Blue Label) and the Rookie Award (Dreams Silver Label).
