Yoon Seo-bin Successfully Concludes First Performance of ‘James Byron Dean’… “Disappointment and Despair Are Not the End”

Actor and singer Yoon Seo-bin has finished the first performance of the original musical 'James Byron Dean: The Original'.

Yoon Seo-bin took the stage at 'James Byron Dean: The Original' held at Link Art Center Dream Hall 4 in Daehak-ro, Seoul on the 16th.

Playing the role of actor James Dean, who passed away at the age of twenty-four, he received applause from the audience for expressing the loneliness, anxiety, and yearning for life that lay behind success.

'James Byron Dean: The Original' is an original musical that uses imagination to expand on the last five minutes of James Dean, who died in an accident on a California road in 1955. It depicts the journey of James Dean, a successful actor who cannot let go of his attachment to life, as he plays a final game over the 'film of life' with Byron, an angel who has not yet been born, and reflects on the true meaning of life.

Yoon Seo-bin, who appeared in the film 'Sprint' and the musical 'Radiant', portrayed the inner turmoil of youth where anxiety and desire intersect in this production. He brought his own unique James Dean to the stage by expressing the character's emotional changes in detail.

After finishing the first performance, Yoon Seo-bin shared his thoughts, saying, “I want to tell you the story of the joys and sorrows James Dean experienced in life,” and added, “I will do my best to ensure that the important message of this work—that disappointment and despair are not the end—is fully conveyed to the audience.”

The musical 'James Byron Dean: The Original', starring Yoon Seo-bin, will be performed at Link Art Center Dream Hall 4 in Daehak-ro, Seoul until October 18.
