1. Just what on earth happened
The 2027 KBO Rookie Draft was held on the 21st at the Crystal Ballroom of Lotte Hotel World in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
Seoul Design High School left-handed pitcher Park Geun-seo was selected by the Lotte Giants as the 4th overall pick in the 1st round. That's enough.
So far, it's just ordinary draft news, but After his son's name was called, the father joined him on stage and asked, "May I sing just one song before leaving?" and suddenly started singing with passion, completely changing the atmosphere. It's done 🔥
2. The Unexpected Sincerity in 'La Bamba'
The point is that it wasn't a song sung just out of excitement.
The song my father chose is Mexican folk song 'La Bamba' It was, but in Spanish among the lyrics I am not a sailor, I am a captain. They say there is a phrase that says...
Connecting these lyrics to the port city of Busan and the Lotte Giants I believe Geunseo will go to Busan and become a captain. That was the message I was conveying. It meant that it wasn't just a simple improvisation, but a performance I had prepared in my own way 💡
3. The on-site reaction is a sea of laughter in real time
It is said that the venue erupted in laughter in an instant as dancing was added.
Even LG Twins General Manager Cha Myung-seok, famous for his eloquence. No matter how hard I try today, I absolutely cannot catch La Bamba. The fact that it was even mentioned says it all lol
Even The buzz surrounding the KBO's official social media account was so immense that it posted a photo of Park Geun-seo's father instead of his face in a post introducing a rookie player. They said they did.
4. What were the son and mother's reactions?
Actually, as he came down from the stage, his father said he was worried.
"Everyone sitting there seemed to like it, so I thought I did a good job, but Geunseo's face next to me was turning red." He confessed that he was suddenly worried that she might be sulking.
The mother also became a hot topic after being caught on camera squeezing her eyes shut during the broadcast. I really hoped they would just do it normally, but I never imagined a song. They say he laughed.
However, rumors say that athlete Park Geun-seo remained composed 😭 While saying, "I knew that was his personality, but I didn't know it would be dancing," "It's a once-in-a-lifetime day for you too, Dad, so I hope you enjoy it to the fullest." It is said that he actually comforted his father.
