From Buret to Wednesday Off… Kindy Lounge Selects 4 New Releases to Watch in the Last Week of September
[OSEN=Reporter Choi Yi-jeong] Kindy Lounge, a music label support program operated by the Korea Music Label Industry Association (KOMIPA), recommended four notable new releases in the Korean music industry that will grace the last week of September.
First, Biuret, a band under Delight Music, teamed up with Taiwanese actor and singer-songwriter Feng Xiaoyue to release the collaboration single "Tropical Night" on the 17th. This song, a Chinese reimagining of Biuret's previously unreleased original Korean track, sensuously expresses wandering, insomnia, loneliness, and the yearning for love. With a structure that begins with a languid reggae sound and transitions into alternative rock resembling a heavy summer shower in the latter half, it seamlessly blends different languages and musical colors.
Following this, singer-songwriter Kwon So-jung, signed to Mound Media (Tapes), released the single 'Rum Summer' on the 22nd. The track is an alternative rock song that captures the time spent wandering away from the rules and letting the flow flow, expressing the love and longing of the past season through simple and honest lyrics. Kwon So-jung personally wrote the lyrics and participated in the composition, arrangement, and production alongside producer schpes4, completing the artist's signature delicate sound sensibility.
Lee Jimin, an artist under JMG (Double X Entertainment), released the single "Song Without Love (2026)" on the 27th. Produced as part of the music project for the popular web novel "Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do," this song deals with the happiness found in small everyday moments rather than a grand love story. Over a fresh and cheerful melody, it captures the free moments of an ordinary day—such as chatting with friends and eating delicious food—delivering feel-good energy.
Finally, Wednesday Off, a band signed to Ruby Records, released the live single 'Lie (Live)' on the 28th. It is a live version of a track from their EP 'ON THE ROAD,' released last June, newly recorded at the Jeju Music Creation Center JEMU. By adding slide guitar, pedal steel guitar, and backing vocals to the existing vocal, guitar, bass, drum, and piano arrangement, the track vividly captures the live and rich stage energy in a three-dimensional way.
Meanwhile, '2026 La La La On,' sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Music & Performing Arts Association, will continue its live performances this coming October at 23 small venues across the country. A diverse lineup of musicians, including Jiteun, Gunny, The Vain, Crackshot, Kotoba, O'When, Marish, Nemesis, and Catch the Young, are scheduled to appear and meet with fans.
