From Touched to Yoon Hyun-sang… 4 New Releases Recommended for October by Kindy Lounge
Kindy Lounge, operated by the Korea Music Label Industry Association (KMIA), selected and introduced four notable new releases for the fourth week of October.
Red C, a brother rock band under IONE ENT, released the single 'I Wanna Sing' on the 30th. The new song 'I Wanna Sing' captures the freedom and instinct of expression found in the moment of singing and playing instruments; they have incorporated the freedom felt through singing and playing, as well as the instinct to express themselves, into this new track.
'I Wanna Sing' combines the raw sound characteristic of garage rock with an intuitive melody, characterized by intense guitar and dynamic drumming that elevate the song's energy. Through the song, the brothers focused on enjoying music and expressing emotions in their own way, rather than imitating others or pursuing perfection.
Touched, a band under MPMG Music, released their first full-length album, 'Polar Night,' on the 15th. Inspired by the 'polar night,' a natural phenomenon where the sun does not rise above the horizon and the night continues, Touched's first full-length album 'Polar Night' uses the never-ending night as a metaphor to express feelings of frustration, resentment, loss, and loneliness that do not easily disappear even as time passes.
This album, containing a total of 12 songs, captures the emotions and stories the members experienced while spending their time individually. The tracks, including the double title tracks 'Fallen Angel' and 'This Star,' stimulate listeners' ears by connecting different emotions through the common theme of 'polar night.'
Singer-songwriter Yun Hyun-sang, signed to Munhwain, released the single 'Arong Herong Satae' on the 23rd. The single deals with the various emotions felt during the process of love beginning, and includes the title track 'Mimyohae' and the B-side track 'Candy'.
"Subtle" sings about the moment when one is unsure if their feelings for someone are love. It expresses a heart that wavers at even the smallest words and actions between friends and lovers, while "Candy" depicts the excitement felt while imagining a future together and the changes in daily life that occur after developing feelings for someone. Yoon Hyun-sang participated in both the lyrics and composition of both songs, releasing the complex emotions faced at the beginning of love through music.
Singer-songwriter Yuri Kim, signed to Hux Music, released the single "Long Night" on the 23rd. Based on her childhood experience of fearing to fall asleep alone, the song expresses the feelings of spending time through a night that feels like it will never truly end. It creates a calm atmosphere by adding Yuri Kim's vocals and instrumentation to an acoustic sound rooted in folk-pop. Yuri Kim participated in writing the lyrics and composing the music, while Park Jun-hyung (Weatherboat) handled the production and arrangement. The track utilizes a variety of instruments, including acoustic guitar, bass, drums, strings, piano, and synths. It is a song that conveys comfort to those passing through a long night, telling them that "this night will eventually pass."
Meanwhile, the '2026 Seoul Music Forum' will be held from November 1 to 2 at the BRST Studio & Live House in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Under the theme 'Independence, Connection, and the World: The Next Chapter of Music Labels,' the forum will discuss changes in Asian Gen Z fandom, exchanges between the Korean and UK music industries, strategies for domestic artists to expand overseas, and issues regarding fair settlement and rights protection in the age of artificial intelligence (AI). In addition to sessions featuring domestic and international music industry experts, networking programs and showcases will also be organized.
