Chun Woo-hee, comforting Miryang victims, "I want to protect you"

On the tvN show 'You Quiz on the Block' on the 5th, Chun Woo-hee said about the independent film 'Han Gong-ju', which deals with the Miryang middle school girls' gang rape incident, "It's a work that everyone put their hearts together to film without any production costs," and added, "I worried, 'Will the public listen to a slightly difficult story?', but I was also confident. I thought our story would definitely be meaningful."

"'Han Gong-ju' (Chun Woo-hee) and I spent time leaning on and relying on each other. I always wanted to be by her side. I've let go of all the characters I've played so far, but I was by her side, thinking, 'I have to always protect the princess.' I guess I felt a sense of responsibility and obligation. I hope that I can shed some light on someone who has been left out, or that someone who has been hurt can be comforted by watching her."

Recently, a YouTuber revealed the current status of the perpetrator of this incident, and it is being reexamined. MC Yoo Jae-suk emphasized, "It was a turning point after 10 years of debut. It is a work that Chun Woo-hee received rave reviews for." Chun Woo-hee won the Best Actress Award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards for this film. At the time, she was moved, saying, "I can't believe I, who is not famous for such a small film, received such a big award..." and MC Kim Hye-soo also shed tears.
