The 'Uniform Debate' sung by New Jeans... Asking about the meaning of the times and religion

Comedian Yoon Seong-ho (47), who is active as DJ 'New Jin (New Progress) Monk', has had his club performances in Southeast Asia canceled one after another due to opposition from local Buddhist communities that 'a secular person is wearing a monk's robe and damaging Buddhist teachings.' In response, a 'uniform debate' has spread in Korean Buddhist circles over Yoon's wearing of a monk's robe, asking 'how Buddhism should change to fit the times.' Some say, "Monk New Jin, who has stirred up international attention, is now at the center of a debate that will remain in the 1,600-year history of Korean Buddhism."

Wearing monk's robes is defaming Buddhism?

I work in electronics, and as long as you don't wear a monk's uniform, drink alcohol, smoke, or do anything like that, it doesn't seem like it's vandalism.
