- Korail strike: Starting on Thursday, December 5, 2024, indefinite.
- Seoul Metro strike: Starting Friday, December 6, 2024, indefinite.

- Normal operation is expected to resume immediately upon conclusion of negotiations.

Seoul subway strike situation by line
Lines 1-8
- Commute hours: 100% normal operation.
- During rush hour: Lines 2 and 5 to 8 are operating normally, with the overall operating rate maintained at approximately 86%.

Line 9
- We will participate in this strike, but will operate 100% as normal as usual.

GTX and Gyeongbu Line
- GTX-A is not affected.
- Some train intervals may increase on the Gyeongbu Line and Suin Line.

- Commuting hours: Maintaining 96.1% operating rate.
- Commuting hours: Operating rate 83.9%.

Higher operating rates are expected when emergency standby trains are deployed.

- Five additional emergency standby trains added to lines 2 to 4.

Emergency transport measures: Significant increase in buses and taxis!
- Concentrated dispatch during rush hour: Dispatch times for 343 city bus routes extended by 1 hour.
- Squirrel Bus & Companion Bus: Operating hours extended by 1 hour.
- Support for citizens’ movement with a total of 6,448 additional operations.
- 174 reserve and shortened bus routes introduced, 1,615 additional trips operated.
- Encourage taxi operation: Actively operate 1,288 taxis within the district.

1. Check the operating schedule in advance
Check the train dispatch status on the official websites of Korail, Let's Korail, SRT, etc.!

2. Use alternative transportation
Take advantage of the extra bus service during the strike.

3. Leave a little early
Plan your travel with plenty of time to spare to avoid rush hour.

Although inconveniences are expected due to the Seoul subway strike, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Transportation Corporation say they have prepared the best possible countermeasures.
