The group NewJeans, who were planning to leave their agency Adore and continue their activities under the name NJZ, have finally announced that they will be suspending their activities.

Meanwhile, on the 21st, the Seoul Central District Court issued a 'complete acceptance' ruling on the injunction filed by Adore against the members of New Jeans to preserve the status of the agency and prohibit the conclusion of advertising contracts. The five members of New Jeans, who unilaterally notified the termination of their exclusive contracts last year and went their own way, are now facing legal brakes on not only their 'return to their original form' with Adore, but also all entertainment activities they have been pursuing under the name 'NJZ'.

Regarding this, Adore stated, “We are deeply grateful for the wise decision of the injunction court,” and “Adore will fulfill its responsibility to support artists in the future as we have legally confirmed our status as a New Jeans agency.”

The five members of New Jeans argued that while they “respect the court’s decision,” “the decision did not sufficiently take into account the fact that the members’ trust in Adore was completely destroyed.” They explained the lack of opportunity to explain using the expression “information asymmetry,” saying, “Due to the nature of the preservation measure, which must be carried out quickly, the decision was made in about two weeks after the hearing date on March 7, 2025, and as such, there was not sufficient opportunity to explain all the specific facts to the court.”

They stated, “We plan to dispute additional issues through the objection procedure regarding today’s injunction decision, and in the process, we plan to supplement and argue with explanatory materials as much as possible.” They added, “The main lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract between Adore and the members is also in progress. We will make it clear once again that the contract was legally terminated at the oral argument date scheduled for April 3.”
