New statement regarding Adore Dolphin Kidnapping Group

The music video production service contract between Adore and Dolphin Kidnapping Group states that Adore owns the rights to not only the music video but also the secondary works. Therefore, posting a video containing New Jeans IP on the Dolphin Kidnapping Group channel without Adore's approval is a clear violation of the service contract.

For this reason, Adore simply relayed to Dolphin Kidnapping Group a request along with the contract clause, “Please present proof (email, KakaoTalk acceptable) that there was an agreement and approval regarding the use of the copyright and the artist’s portrait rights, or if not, it would be right to issue a ‘director’s cut’.” It is the label’s natural job to protect the artist’s work. If Dolphin Kidnapping Group has reached an agreement with Adore, then they can present it. Adore has no choice but to follow the principles in order to protect the artist’s work as they have not been provided with any basis for this content.

It is also clear that Adore received a request from Dolphin Kidnapping Group regarding the posting of the 'ETA Music Video Director's Cut' by New Jeans, asking them to "remove any parts that reflect the advertiser's brand or take the video down." (The image below is the Slack message that was reported internally at the time.)

Adore has never asked Dolphin Kidnapping Group to delete the videos uploaded to Ban Hee-soo's channel. Ban Hee-soo's channel is an account created by Adore members according to our 'Online Channel Creation Guidelines'. Adore only conducted a fact-checking process for the 'ETA Music Video Director's Cut' video to protect the artist's copyright, and has never mentioned Ban Hee-soo's channel. Adore also does not want Ban Hee-soo's channel to disappear. Dolphin Kidnapping Group is welcome to operate the channel. They just have to keep the promises they made in the contract regarding the artist's copyrighted work.

Overreacting to the criticism of Dolphin Kidnapping Group's breach of contract and deleting all of their content does not seem like an act of genuine pain on the part of the creator, nor does it seem like an act of care for Newzin and the fans. I hope that there will be no more cases of using YouTube channels as bait to increase the anxiety of artists and their fandoms.

We apologize to the members of New Jeans and Bernies for causing unnecessary controversy. Adore will do its best to resolve this issue as quickly as possible based on the exact facts.
