New Jeans, the first protagonist of ‘Billboard Artist’

The group New Jeans decorated the first issue of Billboard Korea's art book 'Billboard Artists'.

Billboard Korea announced on the 10th the launch of the visual art book Billboard Artists, revealing that the first protagonist is the group New Jeans.

'Billboard Artist' is an art book that conveys the inspiration of major domestic and international top artists to the public through multi-covers, pictorials, interviews, essays, and visual content. Unlike existing magazines, it is a large-format visual book with a size of 335mm x 435mm, and every page is designed like a poster.

The first Billboard Artist, New Jeans, has received much support from music fans at home and abroad since their debut on July 22, 2022 with "Attention." New Jeans has set a record as the first K-pop female artist to have three or more songs enter the "Billboard Hot 100" at the same time, with a promotional method and music style that stands out from existing K-pop artists. Their 2023 release, "Get Up," has been making new history day after day, such as topping the "Billboard 200" and staying on the chart for 26 weeks, achieving "the longest-term record for a K-pop girl group."

Billboard sheds light on the influence and inspiration of New Jeans on the contemporary music market and the public through a unique story that compares the group Paninari, which had a major influence on the popular culture and youth culture of Milan, Italy in the 1980s, and the value and symbolism of being a messenger of sound connecting the past, present, and future, to 'birds'.

'Billboard Artist - New Jeans' consists of 8 multi-covers, including 3 covers featuring all five members of New Jeans, Minzy, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein, and 5 individual covers for each member. All covers include a new 'New Jeans' signature created by the New Jeans members themselves.

The cover released that day features the members of New Jeans leaning against a tree in the thick smoke, creating a dreamy atmosphere. The cover was taken by photographer Elina Kechicheva, who is famous for her paintings.
