New jeans with no separate role in the team

“I am OOO, the leader and main vocalist.”

As far as I know, this is a typical introduction of an idol member. Haha

Leader, rapper, main dancer, youngest

Even lead vocals, sub vocals, etc.

There was a role.

This is a greeting that can be commonly heard when introducing members of idol groups. However, this greeting is not applied to all groups these days. This is because group leaders and positions within groups are disappearing. The industry predicts that this trend will spread even faster in the K-pop scene in the future.

Although New Jeans seems to have Minzy, the eldest member of the group, as the leader, it is a group without a leader, greeting method, or specific position.

The youngest, Hyein, appeared on a broadcast

“There is no leader in New Jeans. So, when we debuted and when we were trainees, we could share our thoughts and opinions with the members without worrying about what others might think. That’s good. In special situations, each person can lead differently. I think we can grow together,” he said, expressing his satisfaction.
