[All] [Exclusive] Suzy, cast in ‘Hwanok’… Working with director Han Jae-rim

Actress Suzy will appear in director Han Jae-rim's new film 'Hwanok'.

According to a Sports Kyunghyang report on the 30th, Suzy was recently cast in 'Hwanok'.

'Hwanok' is set in Gyeongseong in 1935 and Shanghai in the 1800s. It depicts the mysterious incidents that painter Yoon I-ho, who is commissioned to portray a portrait of a fascinating vampire woman, Song Jeong-hwa, experiences as time passes and the woman's true identity is revealed, as well as the process of him becoming enchanted by her. It is based on a webtoon of the same name that was serialized on Naver from September 2019 to November 2020.

Suzy will play the role of Song Jung-hwa, a mysterious vampire woman. Suzy, who debuted as a member of Miss A, began acting in the 2010 drama "Dream High" and rose to stardom as the "nation's first love" with her first film "Architecture 101" in 2012. Since then, she has solidified her position as an actress by appearing in a variety of films including "The Painter of Dori," "Baekdu Mountain," and "Wonderland," as well as in the dramas "Start-Up," "Anna," and "Lee Doo-na!" regardless of platform. Attention is focused on how she will portray the unknown woman Song Jung-hwa with her lovely image and solid acting skills.

This is her first time working with director Han Jae-rim. Suzy was first contacted during the planning stages of 'Hwanok', but it fell through once due to scheduling issues. However, it has been reported that she will be involved in the project once the production period for 'Hwanok' has been adjusted. So far, director Han has been recognized for his directing skills in 'Purpose of Love', 'Elegant World', 'The Face Reader', 'The King', 'Emergency Declaration', and even for the OTT platform Netflix's 'The Eight Show'. There is much interest in what kind of result will be born from the meeting between Suzy and director Han.
