quick-witted love

Humans are endlessly greedy and repeat the same mistakes.
Monday morning, 8:48 a.m., I can't help but agree with this sentiment.
I had a really horrible Monday last semester.
I vowed never to take classes on Monday mornings again.
My body was me walking to the classroom at this time.

I'm really feeling bad because I mixed up my Monday and morning classes.
It's a bitch. Let's make a schedule for the Golden Age.
It's because of Choi Soo-bin who seduced me with her beauty skills, but why is she like that?
I've been watching this guy make mistakes for over 4 years because he's handsome.
I still don't understand.

To escape the drowsiness that was creeping in, I went to a cafe in front of the school and bought some food. The 1,500 won iced Americano was of no use.
Actually, this condition is not a guest for Monday morning.
I knew it was because I'd been so pissed off the night before that I'd thrown my desk and was covered in bruises from the drinks I'd had with Choi Soobin to celebrate the start of the semester. I opened the classroom door with the thought that it was too much of a hassle to keep holding onto it, so I'd better let Choi Soobin handle it.

One, two... I saw Choi Soo-bin and Won Chae-young sitting in the middle. Thanks to Choi Soo-bin not being happy with Won Chae-young.
I always felt like the middle seat between the two was mine.
With a lighter body - I sat down with a thud and their gazes met
It touches me.

“Are you here?”

" huh "

I naturally handed over the Americano that was in my hand.
He answered. He put his shoulder to Choi Soo-bin, who was whining, asking if he was doing it again.
I was proud. They say Americano is the best for hangovers.

“Since when have you been so concerned about me?”

It's funny how Choi Soo-bin keeps complaining and putting a spoon in his mouth
He hit me with a small smile, saying, "Are you laughing at me?"
Choi Soo-bin stopped him. -Wow. -Wow. We're getting a little noisy.
Won Chae-young, who was talking with other classmates, said gloomily,
Walked.

“What? Did you two drink together last night?”

" huh "

“Call me too.. Why do you play without me?”

“I called you two to play together. Now I’m just going to play with Seol Yeo-ju.
I wanted to-”

Choi Soo-bin took a side when Won Chae-young secretly blamed him.
He answered, raising his eyebrows. The way they looked at each other seemed to be
Choi Soo-bin's eyes sparkled like lasers were shooting out of her eyes.
I don't like Won Chae-young. More precisely, I hate her.
And Won Chae-young knows that fact. Won Chae-young is observant.
fast.

“That’s a bit sad to say, but sometimes, Soobin, I feel like you hate me.”

Won Chae-young smiles. A couple who hate each other, and a woman who's somehow fiercely opposed to them. This strange relationship has continued since high school.

—————————————————————

Won Chae-young and I are high school friends because of each other's parents.
We have been together since the beginning of my memory. I have noticed since I was little.Won Chae-young, who was quick, was cute and acted kindly to the adults around her.
I monopolized it. When Won Chae-young was praised, I was scolded.
I heard that when Won Chae-young received two candies, I received one. Well, I didn't feel particularly wronged. It was the result of Won Chae-young's efforts.

We've always been compared. About 15 years ago, adults, and during my teenage years, my peers compared me to Won Chae-young, praising her. Of course, I didn't feel resentful. I simply thought it was amazing how much effort it took to please others.

Won Chae-young often exploited the public's affection for her to manipulate others. Seventeen-year-old Won Chae-young wanted to join the library club. However, only one student could join, as each class had two members and another student had already written their name next to it. Despite my persuasion that she should join alone, she insisted on joining with me.

Song Ye-bin, that was the name of the friend who joined the club first.
Won Chae-young immediately went to Song Ye-bin and spoke to her.

"Yebin, would it be possible to transfer you to a different club besides the library club? There's no room for Yeoju..."

Please! Won Chae-young put her hands together and put them together quite politely.
I asked. Of course, I didn't forget that I was the one who was being asked, not myself. The eyes of the children in the class were on me.
The attention turned to them. Song Ye-bin hesitated and couldn't speak easily. Of course. It was the friend who dominated the class.
Because refusing a conversation is quite difficult for a high school student. The problem here is that the person behind Song Ye-bin was Yoon Ji-woo.

“Hey, if possible, just change it a bit. What’s so important about the club?”

And the fact that Yoon Ji-woo had feelings for Won Chae-young.

“Oh, okay.. I’ll change it.”

The fact that Song Ye-bin liked Yoon Ji-woo. The sound of Song Ye-bin storming out of the classroom, the chatter between Won Chae-young and Yoon Ji-woo, the scolding of the classmates for making things difficult for Won Chae-young when they could just go anywhere—none of it bothered me. I was simply amazed by Won Chae-young's fearless actions and cleverness, how she understood and exploited the situation. "Aren't you annoyed?" was my one-line comment on Won Chae-young's clever antics.

That's how I met Choi Soo-bin in the library. Choi Soo-bin and I, who were assigned to duty together, surprisingly hit it off well, and the three of us ended up spending a lot of time together. Even then, Choi Soo-bin disliked Won Chae-young, and Won Chae-young disliked Choi Soo-bin for that.

"Why are you hanging out with him? I haven't seen him in months, and I hate seeing him."

What did I say to that? I think I just said, "It's fun." I found Won Chae-young's actions, which I found fascinating, like using the situation to switch shifts, teasing people, and getting away from organizing books to chatter with her seniors, to be quite amusing, but Choi Soo-bin didn't seem to mind.

Here's a question that arises: why do these three hang out together? The answer lies with me. Choi Soo-bin didn't want to lose me, who was her perfect match, and Won Chae-young needed me to show off her superiority. I simply found it too much of a hassle to shake them off.

As I was lost in thought, watching the two engage in a strange war of nerves, known only to the three of us, the classroom suddenly became noisy, bringing me back to my senses. Choi Soobin and Won Chaeyoung seemed to have also chosen a truce. I followed them to the back door,

" good morning- "

Choi Beom-gyu was coming in.

—————————————————————————

Who is Choi Beom-gyu? Even I, who only have Choi Soo-bin and Won Chae-young around as my classmates because everything else is a chore, hear his name at least once a day. In stark contrast to the buzzing classroom atmosphere on the first day of the semester in March, filled with the excitement of freshmen, Everytime was unusually noisy that day. Who was that long-haired man with black hair entering the Engineering Building 1?

Choi Beom-gyu, who became famous for his long hair, changed his hair color quite dazzlingly. Everytime's articles also changed to match Choi Beom-gyu's hair color, which changed from black to pink, then from pink to bleached, and then from bleached to blue.
For example, does that pink-haired person have a lover?, "Is that blue-haired engineering student taking a semester off?", "I need to change my course registration." This was the moment Everytime, which vividly conveyed school information, transformed into a notification app for Choi Beom-gyu's hair dye.

Contrary to his mother's adage that a handsome man's looks were the price of his own, Choi Beom-gyu seemed to have no flaws. He was the epitome of a popular kid, friendly with everyone, regardless of gender. He even captured the heart of his professor. One day, when Choi Beom-gyu arrived wearing a checked shirt, Professor Baek, known for his strictness, made this remark:

"I heard students say that engineering students only wear checkered shirts. But when Choi Beom-gyu wears them, he looks like Cartier. Is that what kids say these days?"
