Seoul is dead

Beep—The eyes of the male students, who had been wandering in dreamland, their noses buried in their Korean textbooks, suddenly opened. The peaceful silence of the classroom was shattered by none other than a loud disaster text message.

"Another earthquake? Is South Korea really going to collapse?"

“Wh, what is it… It’s not an earthquake?”

The disaster alarm, which I'd assumed was an earthquake and dismissed as nothing serious, rang out again, sharply piercingly in my ears. Even the kind-looking Korean teacher, dressed in a traditional Korean hanbok, seemed startled. Frowning, he quickly switched the classroom television to channel 4.

Breaking news. Riots are rapidly spreading throughout Seoul, centered around Gangnam District. The exact nature of the riots is unknown, but people are losing their lives.

The announcer's serious expression faded into black. At the same time, all the school lights went out, quickly darkening the classroom. Fortunately, it was only 11 o'clock, so even just raising the blinds allowed everyone to see each other's faces clearly. The moment the Korean teacher left the classroom, saying she was going to get her phone, an eardrum-piercing scream, "Gyaaaaak!" resonated from downstairs. Downstairs... it was a third-year girls' classroom.

"Jeon Jungkook, I'll go down for a bit."

"What? Didn't you hear the scream just now? He went downstairs knowing what would happen. Let's just wait for now."

"Kim Joo-yeon is downstairs. What if something happens like you said?"

Kim Taehyung's palms began to sweat. He was anxious, wondering if Kim Jooyeon's voice might be mixed in with the constant screams of the female students. Unable to bear it any longer, Taehyung kicked open the door to Class 3-1 and left. 'Kim Jooyeon, Kim Jooyeon, Jooyeon, Jooyeon...' He must have repeated Jooyeon's name at least thirty times when his eyes met with something running down the hallway at incredible speed.

“What the fuck is that?”

The strange creature turned and lunged at Kim Taehyung. At some point, another one latched onto him, and they both ran, their bodies twisting. Taehyung was so shocked that his whole body froze, unable to take a single step, and he squeezed his eyes shut.

"Kim Taehyung you crazy bastard, what are you doing, run quickly!!!!"

It was Jeon Jungkook. Kim Taehyung was able to regain his senses thanks to Jungkook, who had followed him out of concern that Taehyung had left the classroom alone. He ran with all his might down the right hallway next to the bathroom where Jeon Jungkook was. Fortunately, he managed to close the door leading to the stairs just before he made contact with the strange creature.

Taehyung shook his head as if he couldn't believe what had just happened.

“Hey Jungkook… Was that their guy just now…?”

“You saw the human figure too, hey, but in your hand…”

Taehyung's hands were covered in red. "Huh..? I didn't do anything? I just ran away," Taehyung said, but then something came to mind and he wiped his hands on his uniform. Jungkook grabbed Taehyung's shoulder, who was showing his anxiety even more rapidly, and asked why.

“Blood… This is human blood, Jungkook. We need to find Jooyeon quickly.”
