Lima has been completely colored by BTS. Completely.
BTS dyed Lima purple
I am truly delighted to hear the news that BTS is visiting Peru for the first time since their debut to meet with local fans. I believe this Lima concert is not just another overseas performance, but a historic moment that Peruvian fans, who have waited so long for BTS, have been eagerly anticipating. I was particularly impressed by the news that the Santiago de Surco district named a street in Sacramento "Avenida BTS" for a week to commemorate their visit. Just seeing a street in a city named after BTS makes me realize just how much interest and welcome they are receiving locally.
It is truly special that not only street names but also various parts of Lima have been decorated to welcome BTS. With the Arco Morisco in Surco Friendship Park adorned with purple lights and light shows, and themed events utilizing water screens and light taking place at the Fountain Park—a representative tourist attraction—local fans will likely feel like they are at a festival even while waiting for the performance. It is even more surprising to see that the official Peruvian tourism website is using this concert as an opportunity to introduce Lima's tourist attractions, food, and culture, demonstrating that BTS's influence extends beyond music to local tourism and culture.
We also cannot leave out the fact that they kicked off the South American tour spectacularly at their concerts in Bogota, Colombia, drawing approximately 100,000 spectators over two days. Just as local music media described it as a show a generation had long awaited, it seems we can feel just how much the fans have been anticipating this world tour through the scale of the concert and the local reaction. Now that the moment has arrived for BTS and the Peruvian ARMY to meet in person in Lima, we are already looking forward to the amazing performances on stage and the passionate cheers of the fans.
Above all, as a fan, I feel incredibly proud to see a street in a country we are visiting for the first time named 'BTS Boulevard' and even major landmarks bathed in purple light. I hope that through this concert, the hearts of fans who have loved BTS's music for so long will come together as one, and that this first meeting in Peru will become a precious memory that the members will cherish for a long time. I hope this Lima concert will also remain as another legendary moment representing BTS's South American tour, and I sincerely want to cheer for them alongside the local ARMYs.
