Amidst the continuing news of the world tour, I also took the time to review the Billboard performance of their 5th studio album, ARIRANG. According to the charts released last March, the title track "Swim" reached number one on the Hot 100, marking BTS's seventh number one on the chart.
There is one more record. It is said that 13 out of the 14 songs on the album entered the Hot 100. Only "No. 29," which features only the sound of the Great King Bell without lyrics, was excluded, and they became the K-pop artist with the most songs from a single album to chart on the Hot 100.
In July, the track "NORMAL" re-entered the Hot 100 at number 33. It appears to have climbed the charts due to renewed interest following the release of the music video and Korean audio track on the 17th. It is also reported that the group set a new personal best ranking on the Global 200, reaching number 4.
The album rankings were also noteworthy. It rose 17 spots from the previous week to 9th place on the Billboard 200 and stayed in the Top 10 for a total of 13 weeks, reportedly the longest time a Korean singer's album has spent in the Top 10. It is impressive that it has remained consistently in the rankings even though several months have passed since its release.
The fact that talk of the album continues even now, while the world tour is in full swing, seems to mean that the songs have been loved for a long time. It was nice to see the songs heard at the concerts and the numbers on the charts moving in the same direction.
