BTS's Jimin has once again proven the passionate support of global fans even during his military service, proudly taking first place in the 'Favorite K-pop Song of 2024'. Jimin's solo song 'Who' took first place in the vote held from October 26 to November 30 on the global fan voting site Shining Awards.
The Shining Awards is an annual platform that holds voting for world-class K-pop artists and their songs, and is well-known for the active participation and enthusiastic cheers of fans. This year, the title of 'Favorite K-pop Song' went to Jimin's 'Who', and this honorable result was made even more meaningful as it went beyond a simple vote victory and led to a donation. The Shining Awards said that the donation will be delivered to a global charity organization in Jimin's name, and Jimin will be awarded a certificate of appreciation for the donation. This remains a warm example of fans' loving support expanding into a good influence.
Jimin's popularity doesn't end here. He previously took first place for two consecutive years in the same platform's 'Most Popular K-Pop Idol of 2024' poll, and also took first place in the 'Most Popular Korean Artist of 2024' poll, demonstrating his unwavering presence. Furthermore, Jimin took first place by an overwhelming margin in the 'TOP100 K-POP MEMBERS' poll conducted on Dabeme. These consecutive awards clearly show that Jimin is receiving the unwavering trust and love of global K-Pop fans despite his hiatus due to military service.
The success of 'Who' was also notable on global charts. The song entered Billboard's main single chart 'Hot 100' at No. 47 and stayed on the chart for a whopping 20 consecutive weeks, making him the only K-pop artist to achieve this in 2024. This is the result of Jimin's song being loved by global fans for a long time, and it is a part that confirms how much his musical ability resonates in the global music market.
These records prove how deep Jimin's musical expression and connection with the public are. 'Who' is a song that combines Jimin's delicate yet emotional voice with a sophisticated melody, and has been loved for a long time as it simultaneously conveys emotion and comfort to fans. In particular, despite the temporary suspension of activities due to military service, he maintained a steady presence on the charts and showed off his dignity as a 'world-class artist'.
Jimin's global popularity is closely linked to the passionate support of his fans. Fans around the world have been cheering him on beyond voting, supporting him with advertisements and even making donations. On Jimin's birthday or special days, fan clubs in each country have been spreading his 'good influence' by donating to various fields such as education, environment, and social welfare. This shows that Jimin, as an artist, has not stopped at musical achievements, but has become the center of positive energy that warms the world together with his fans.
