Jungkook's Seven Sets Spotify's Shortest Time Streaming Record of 2.1 Billion

A milestone in the history of Asian solo artists… BTS Jungkook's 'Seven', Spotify's shortest period of 2.1 billion streaming records

Jungkook caught the eye by including two of his solo songs on Spotify's 'Top Tracks of 2024 Global' list, which selects the most streamed songs worldwide this year. He made history by becoming the 'first' Asian solo artist to have multiple songs on Spotify's global year-end list at the same time.

'Seven' also achieved great success on the major global music platform 'Apple Music'. The song ranked 41st on the 'Top Songs of 2024: Global' year-end chart, setting a new record as the only song by a K-pop solo artist to enter the chart for two consecutive years.

The success of "Seven" continued on Billboard. The song debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's main single chart, the "Hot 100," and charted for 15 weeks, while topping the "Global (Excluding the U.S.)" chart for nine consecutive weeks and the "Global 200" chart for seven consecutive weeks. With this, Jungkook achieved the rare record of being the "first" Asian solo artist to enter both charts for 75 consecutive weeks, showing off his status in the global music market.

On the UK Official main single chart 'Top 100', which is considered one of the two major charts in the world along with Billboard, 'Seven' entered the chart at number 3, and set a record for the 'first' time for a K-pop solo artist song to stay on the chart for 14 weeks.

Jungkook's personal Spotify account profile, including all credits, has surpassed 7.9 billion streams (before filtering) in the "fastest" time for a K-pop artist and the "first" for a K-pop solo artist, proving his global popularity.

"Seven" recorded the "shortest" time in Spotify history to reach 1 billion streams (before filtering), and achieved the "most" weekly streams (89,748,171, after filtering) among male artist tracks worldwide on the Spotify Global Chart. In addition, he set a record for surpassing 100 million streams (after filtering) in the "shortest" time, and was named the artist with the most number one hits (3) on the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI)'s official chart "MENA." With this, Jungkook has set a total of 4 new world records and has been officially listed in the British Guinness World Records (hereinafter "Guinness").

Jungkook recently won three trophies in two years at the Billboard Music Awards, becoming the most-awarded K-pop solo artist of all time. This achievement clearly shows that he is establishing a unique position in the global music industry beyond just K-pop.
