Young K “I pretended to be strong, but I was breaking”… The real Kang Young-hyun faced for the first time in 11 years

DAY6's Young K looked back on the 11 years since his debut and shared his most honest story.

In a recent interview, Young K described his past experiences with the single word "survival," stating, "I pretended to be strong, but on the inside, I was actually breaking." He confessed that while he always tried to show a bright and reliable side of himself on stage, the emotions of the human Kang Young-hyun were gradually hidden in the process.

This second solo full-length album, 'YOUNGEST,' is an album completed by facing oneself exactly as one is. He stated that he wanted to capture the story of a flawed and wavering individual rather than the image of a successful artist, and revealed that through music, he was able to honestly express his true feelings for the first time.

Young K said that through this work, he learned how to understand and accept himself, and that he wants to convey his emotions as they are through music rather than showing only a perfect version of himself.
