Mastering 2026 Chuseok Train Ticket Booking! We’ve compiled a comprehensive guide covering everything from the Korail & SRT integrated booking schedule to key tips by route and departure station, and payment deadlines. Check out this year's essential checklist for updated information and succeed in your holiday ticketing!
1. 2026 Chuseok Holiday Period and Overall Booking Period
Ticket Eligibility Period: Trains operating for a total of 5 days, from September 23 (Wed) to September 27 (Sun), 2026
Reservation Method: 100% contactless via the mobile app 'Korail+' and the dedicated holiday reservation website (PC/mobile).
The most important twist!
Starting this Chuseok, Korail and SR have merged, so only 'Korail Integrated Members' can make reservations!
Existing SR-only members, please do not panic on the day of booking; you must complete the conversion to an integrated membership or sign up right now via the Korail+ app or website!
2. Advance Reservation Schedule for the Transportationally Disadvantaged (September 3 – September 4)
Advance reservations for the elderly and those with mobility impairments who have difficulty using the internet will begin first.
Ticket sales hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (15:00)
Eligibility: Seniors aged 65 or older, registered persons with disabilities, persons of national merit (eligible for transportation support), pregnant women
Routes by Date:
September 3 (Thu): Gyeongbu, Gyeongjeon, Donghae, Jungbu Inland, Gyeongbuk, Daegu, Chungbuk, Suburban Line

Booking Tips for the Transportationally Disadvantaged:
Advance booking must be completed within 5 minutes of accessing the site (30 minutes for those with severe disabilities). If your parents are not comfortable using the internet, phone booking through the Railway Customer Center is also available, so it is a good idea to let them know in advance!
3. General Member Ticket Sales Schedule (September 7 – September 11)
The general booking period has been significantly extended from the previous 3 days to 5 days! It has been subdivided by route, train type, and departure station, so make sure you do not confuse the date of the train you are taking!
Ticket Sales Hours: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM (13:00)
Target routes by date:
September 07 (Mon): General trains on all routes (ITX-Saemaul, ITX-Maeum, Mugunghwa, etc.)
September 08 (Tue): KTX departures and arrivals at Seoul, Cheongnyangni, etc. (Gyeongjeon, Gangneung, Donghae, Jungang, Jungbu Inland Lines)
September 09 (Wed): KTX Arrivals/Departures at Yongsan, etc. (Honam/Jeolla Lines)
September 10 (Thu): KTX departures and arrivals at Suseo (Gyeongbu, Gyeongjeon, Donghae, Honam, Jeolla Lines / Former SRT routes)
September 11 (Fri): KTX Departures and Arrivals in Seoul (Gyeongbu Line)
Example: What if you are taking the KTX from Seoul Station to Dongdaegu Station? Be sure to take advantage of this great tip: you have a chance on both days—the Gyeongjeon/Donghae Line booking day on the 8th (Tue) and the Gyeongbu Line booking day on the 11th (Fri)!
Note: For general bookings, you must complete all reservations within 3 minutes of accessing the page to avoid being kicked out of the session.
4. Payment deadline after reservation
Every year, so many people manage to successfully make a reservation with great difficulty only to lose it because they miss the payment date. Please make sure to write it down on your calendar!
Payment Open: Payments available from 00:00 on Saturday, September 12
General ticket payment deadline: Until September 15 (Tue)
Payment deadline for advance reservations for the transportation vulnerable: Until September 18 (Fri)
Tickets that are not paid for within the payment period will be automatically cancelled and released as cancelled tickets (remaining seats), so please make sure to pay on time!
5. Frequently Asked Questions (Q&A)
Q1. Do existing Korail members also need to sign up separately or switch?
A1. No! Existing Korail members will be automatically converted to integrated members. However, those who were registered only as SR (SRT) exclusive members must sign up for an integrated membership in advance via the Korail+ app or website to make a reservation.
Q2. When are cancelled tickets (remaining seats) released if a reservation fails?
A2. Remaining seats that were cancelled due to unpaid payments will be officially released after midnight (24:00) on September 15, the payment deadline for general reservations. If you failed to reserve a ticket, we recommend trying the Korail+ app in the early morning or morning of September 16!
Q3. Can non-members also make holiday reservations?
A3. It is not possible! Since ticket reservations for this holiday are exclusively for Korail integrated members, you must complete registration and log in before the day of reservation.
Q4. Do you also sell products at the counter?
A4. No, holiday train ticket reservations are conducted 100% non-face-to-face via the mobile app and dedicated online webpage. (However, telephone reservations for the transportation vulnerable are excluded.)
