Domestic and international indie musicians gather in one place… ‘Seoul Indie Music Festa’ opens on the 3rd
The '2026 Seoul Indie Music Festa Label Market & Showcase,' organized by the Korea Music Label Industry Association (hereinafter KMIA), will be held on October 3rd and 4th at the Seoul Battleship Park in Mangwon Hangang Park, Seoul.
The 'Seoul Indie Music Festa' is a festival where labels, musicians, and music fans come together to promote the independence and exchange of the domestic indie music scene. This year, the 'Label Market' will be held starting at 2:00 PM, followed by musicians' 'Showcases' starting at 3:30 PM.
This showcase will feature exchange stages in collaboration with local music studios and international musicians, in addition to domestic musicians. 'OA', an exchange musician affiliated with a local music studio, will take the stage, and 'EKD y Los Changaras (JP)', an international exchange musician active in Japan, will also participate.
On the first day, the 3rd, aiai, blah, Kim So-yeon, Himitsu the Acoustic Duo, Fat Hamster & Kangnyu, and Kirara will perform. On the 4th, Yuri Kim, Lee Sang-woong, A-Wol, Taejong, Lee Byung-chan, and Broccoli You Too will take the stage. Including Oa and EKD y Los Changaras (JP), a total of 14 teams will perform in a relay over the two days.
Unlike typical markets that sell albums and merchandise, the 'Label Market' operates on a donation basis, using proceeds to foster the indie music ecosystem. Twenty labels are participating, including Groy Entertainment, Kami Music, Rockin' Korea, Rockstar Music & Live, Ruby Records, Le French Code, Modern Boy Entertainment, Cultural Topography Research Institute CTR, Mirrorball Music, I-ONE ENT, Archive Achim, MPMG Music, Your Summer, In Heart Music (oddsoap.), Electric Muse, Crepe Sound, Tapes, Patio Heater, Plunk, and Hux Music. Each label is submitting LPs, CDs, and merchandise (MD) as a donation.
The on-site market operates as a 'paid participation event' where visitors donate a certain amount to participate. Participants can receive albums and merchandise through the event, and the proceeds are used as donations to foster the indie music ecosystem.
The Association of Music and Performing Arts is continuing its activities to develop the indie music ecosystem and create a fair industry environment by promoting projects such as the popular music workforce support program and the 'Lalalaon' small-scale performance revitalization project.
An official from the Korea Music Label Industry Association stated, “We have meticulously prepared a meaningful program ranging from exchange stages with local music studios and international musicians to a donation-based label market embodying the spirit of sharing,” adding, “We hope you enjoy the diverse charms of indie music and the warm culture along the Han River this autumn.”
