2026.10.23 10:29
A complete summary of basic information for the Japanese drama "Merry Very Love" starring Ji Chang-wook and Imada Mio! We have organized everything from the Disney+ release date, number of episodes, cast, plot, and character relationships all in one place.
There are a lot of people looking forward to Wednesdays these days, aren't there? 🍓
Ji Chang-wook has returned to a romantic comedy for the first time in about three years since 'Welcome to Samdalli,' and the setting was none other than a strawberry field on a small Japanese island 😭✨
Since it was a Korea-Japan co-production, I was skeptical at first, but now that I've actually watched it, it's so lovely that I'm totally hooked on binge-watching it.
For those who haven't started yet, I've put together a complete summary of everything from basic information to the cast and plot!
1. Merry Very Love Basic Information (OTT · Number of Episodes · Broadcast Time)
First, let's take a neat look at the basic information you're probably most curious about in a table 💡

Episodes 1-3 were released on October 21st, and you can check out the next episode, Episode 4, on Wednesday, October 28th 🔥
2. Merry Berry Love Plot Summary, The Reason a Failed Man Went to Strawberry Island
The official description is 'a border-transcending romance between a disastrously failed Korean space planner and a Japanese female farmer on a beautiful island.'
The protagonist, Lee Yu-bin, was a successful space planner who was successful enough to work as an advertising model.
But after being betrayed by an employee I trusted, the company went under overnight, and I ended up with creditors swarming around me. 😭
Yubin, who had nowhere to go, learns that his deceased father left him land on Charo Island in Japan, so he heads to the island to sell it.
However, there was Karin Shirahama, a farmer growing strawberries on land inherited from her grandfather... and due to a misunderstanding surrounding the strawberry field, the two get into serious trouble right from their first meeting.
One fun point ✨
Yubin speaks Korean and Karin speaks Japanese, but they can roughly understand each other through nuance and atmosphere lol. The scene where they even play rock-paper-scissors in their own languages was really funny.
3. Mary Berry Love Cast & Character Summary
Let's take a look at everyone from the main characters to the supporting cast 👇
Ji Chang-wook : Lee Yu-bin / A perfectionist space planner who lost everything and came to Charo Island
Imada Mio : Karin Shirahama / A passionate farmer who lives for strawberries alone
Nam Yoon-soo : Park Gu-nam / A young working holiday visa holder working at the island supermarket 'Asahi Sanghoe', falls in love with Mari and settles on the island
Kumada Rinka : Mizuno Mari / Karin's best friend and a love tarot counselor
Kim Tae-hoon: Lee Kyung-soo / Yubin's deceased father, a plant breeder connected to Charo-som
Moon Woo-jin: Young Lee Yu-bin
Jeong Sun-won: Kim Bong-su / Yubin's business partner and best friend
Lee Hyo-in: Han Sia / Yubin's college junior, granddaughter of a global construction company.
Gangnam: Lazy / Karin's college classmate and influencer, a rival who competes at every turn.
Jeong Young-ju: A character whose identity is still undisclosed
I heard that especially during Gangnam's entrance scene, everyone's reaction was like, "Why are you here?!" lol
4. Key Points to Watch for in Episodes 1–3 (Spoiler Alert ⚠️)
Karin has a strange symptom where she suddenly falls asleep when she holds a man's hand and her heart races.
My rival Reiji even gave me the nickname 'Nemurin' by combining my name with 'nemuru' (to sleep). 😂
In Episode 3, Karin's strawberries are selected to represent Charo Island at the island crop expo 'Green Nova Corporation Festa,' and thanks to Gunam, Yubin ends up helping out unexpectedly.
Karin sets 10 rules for Yubin, who refuses to sleep in the warehouse, and the cohabitation romance begins in earnest!
Seeing the two of them even get asked by the clerk, "Are you a newlywed couple?" makes my heart flutter 💕
5. Reactions and OST Information
They say it ranked #2 worldwide on Disney+ TV shows and reached the Top 10 in 72 countries and regions just two days after its release 🔥
The ending song is SEKAI NO OWARI's 'Supermarket,' which makes the atmosphere even more heartwarming.
Just like 'Welcome to Samdalli,' it follows the story of a wounded person rising again in nature, so I highly recommend it to those looking for a heartwarming, healing romantic comedy ✨
