"Falsehood? Let the prosecutor prove it"… De-fancier camp denies defamation intention

[Dispatch=Reporter Kim So-jung] YouTuber 'De-fan Concentration Camp' attended the trial. He is accused of defaming Kang Daniel. This is the first time he has been caught by the media.

The 18th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Judge Lee Jun-goo) held a trial for Mr. Park of the Taldeok Detention Center on the 27th. Mr. Park is charged with violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation).

Park had her face tightly covered by glasses and a mask. She wore a pink shirt and a white long skirt. She was accompanied by a lawyer. When asked about her occupation, she said, "I run an online shopping mall."

On June 15, 2022, Mr. Park uploaded videos of Kang Daniel to the 'De-fandom Camp'. The titles are 'The scandalous private lives of the nation's boyfriend actor and idol on YouTube'. The prosecutor said, "Mr. Park created these for the purpose of defamation."

Park's attorney admitted to producing and posting the video, but denied that he had any intention to defame her. He claimed, "I did not intend to defame her. Park posted it knowing it was true."

The court asked again, “Did you not know that it was false?” The defense attorney said, “I did not know. The prosecution must prove the falsity.” He emphasized, “The defendant believed it to be true.”

After the trial, Dispatch asked Mr. Park.

They asked questions like, "Why did you change your name multiple times?", "Why did you continue to upload videos when your agency said they would take legal action?", and "Is it true that you bought a house with your YouTube earnings?" There was no response.

Mr. Park's lawyer blocked the interview, saying, "I will tell you at the next trial." Mr. Park was in a hurry to cover his face. He ran quickly and escaped to the subway station. The defendant's examination will be held at the next trial.

Mr. Park is facing trial after trial. He also sued 'Ive' Jang Won-young and his agency Starship. He filed a civil suit after receiving information about Mr. Park from Google. Jang Won-young won the first trial.

After that, Mr. Park hired a lawyer and appealed. The second trial court referred the case to mediation. It was thought that the two sides could resolve the issue through agreement. However, the case broke down on the 14th. The legal battle is expected to continue.

Mr. Park is also facing a criminal trial. Incheon District Prosecutors' Office Criminal Division 1 (Chief Prosecutor Lee Gon-ho) indicted Mr. Park without detention on charges of defamation and insult under the Information and Communications Network Act.

Mr. Park is accused of defaming celebrities by uploading videos defaming them 23 times through the YouTube channel 'Taldeoksuyongso' from October 2021 to June of last year.

The amount of money Mr. Park earned from fake videos over two years was approximately 250 million won. It was found that he used the money to purchase real estate and other items.
